Before your first visit

Do I need experience?

No. Beginners are welcome. Tell the coach you’re new so they can help you settle in.

Which class should I attend first?

Core Jiu-Jitsu is a practical starting point for adults. Kids join the appropriate age group. If you’re unsure, let the team know when booking and we’ll help you choose.

What should I wear and bring?

Bring clean training clothes, a water bottle and shoes for off the mats. For NoGi, wear a rash guard or fitted top and shorts without open pockets, buttons or zips. Keep nails short and gear clean.

Can I borrow a Gi?

The academy has Gis for people getting started. Ask the team before your first class about availability and any hire arrangements.

Can parents watch?

Yes. Please give children space to learn without coaching from the sidelines. Children who are not training must be supervised by a parent or carer.

What facilities are available?

There is a changing room, lockers and three toilets. Wear shoes off the mats and in the toilets. Coffee and an infrared sauna are also available; ask the team about service hours and bookings.
